Job overview
The Beginning of a Great Heart

The School:

King’s College International School Bangkok is a King’s College School Wimbledon International School. We opened in September 2020 for boys and girls and now cater for over 1,600 students aged 2 –18 in Early Years to Year 13, offering IGCSEs, A levels and pathways to the world’s best universities.

We work closely with King’s Wimbledon to provide a well-structured education that aims to instil a love of learning, creativity and independence in our students. Our vision is to engage, inspire and extend our students. We want our alumni to be successful in their own ways. We do this with the values of kindness, good manners and wisdom in a friendly, welcoming and attractive environment.

We are looking for outstanding teachers who embody our values, can inspire students and who understand the values of a UK-style education.

We really value our teachers and we recruit the best. To help us do this, we offer an excellent package of international benefits including annual flight allowance, medical insurance, a competitive salary and place in school for one child subject to our admissions process.

The Position:

The school is looking to appoint a well-qualified Teacher of Japanese to join the languages team and deliver a rewarding learning experience for our students.

Japanese is a popular subject at King’s and it is taught at Key Stage 3 (beginner courses from Year 7) and the IGCSE course is taught at Key Stage 4 with some students pursuing A Level Japanese in the sixth form.

We seek to appoint a teacher who will demonstrate substantial subject expertise and the ability to nurture every pupil by fostering a culture of high expectations and love of learning. The successful candidate will be able to employ adaptive teaching strategies, including the use of digital tools and traditional methods, to support and stretch all learners. Knowledge of the A-Level curriculum and Key Stage 5 teaching experience would be an advantage.

Teachers at King’s are committed to academic excellence and to developing and improving their professional practice. They also play an active role in the co-curricular, extra-curricular and pastoral aspects of the school life. This is an exciting opportunity for candidates who value collaboration and offer a nurturing forward-thinking approach to education.
