Sedbergh School Fuzhou is a bilingual international school which opened in September 2018. Sedbergh School Fuzhou requires an enthusiastic, experienced iGCSE Business Teacher to promote and improve uptake of particularly Business at A-level. Candidates should have a proven track record of high-quality teaching at iGCSE and A-Level, preferably teaching students with English as a second language, with the ability to use practical activities to enhance learning. The responsibilities of taking some economics class is required.

Reporting to the Head of Commerce, the role will involve the planning, preparation, teaching, recording, assessment and reporting required to meet the educational needs of the students. With a team of experienced technicians and a well-resourced department, we pride ourselves on the inclusion of practical lessons as a regular part of the curriculum. Teamwork is an integral part of the department, and we assist each other through peer observations to constantly improve teaching practices. CPD is available to staff through internal and external providers.

The Cambridge iGCSE and IAL syllabi are taught throughout the department and some experience of these would be desirable.

Candidates should also be willing to contribute to the wider life of this busy boarding school, offering extra-curricular activities to the students.

As we are a boarding school, every member of teaching staff has a role in the boarding houses, along with a particular responsibility for a form group. Additional pastoral roles within the boarding houses may be available.
