Job scope
The Student Affairs & Engagement Manager is responsible for leading the Student Engagement team and managing the operations, programs, and initiatives of the Student Life Office. Reporting to the Vice President of Student Life, this role focuses on fostering a high-performing team and developing innovative co-curricular programs that align with the university's mission. Additionally, this position is instrumental in enhancing the student experience through leading global experience initiatives that provide transformative international opportunities for students. The Manager is also actively involved in crisis management, emergency response planning, and ensuring compliance with legal and risk management standards.

Roles and Responsibilities
The roles and responsibilities of the Student Affairs & Engagement Manager include but are not limited to:
1. Manage the operations and development of Student Life Office:
Support the Vice President of Student Life in making strategic decisions to grow and develop the Student Life Office. Provide overall support and guidance to other key members, including the Managers and Senior Coordinators within the Student Life Office, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
Optimize staffing and workload distribution to ensure efficient and effective resource utilization across the team.
Support the Vice President of Student Life to develop and manage the Student Life budget, monitor expenditures, allocate resources, and report on budget performance.
Develop, implement, and standardize policies and procedures related to Student Affairs & Services to ensure consistency and effectiveness in delivering student support and services.
Play an active role in the institution's emergency response team, assisting in crisis management and ensuring student safety during critical incidents.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and recommend strategic initiatives to enhance student services and support.
Collaborate with Global Engagement, Career Services, Academic Affairs unit, industry partners, and international institutions to create and promote international internships, non-credit courses, and short programs that allow students to gain valuable global experience.
Ensure that all students have access to opportunities for international exposure, guiding them through the application and preparation processes for global internships and non-credit courses.
Serve as the key liaison of Student Life Office with other University units such as the President’s Office, Provost’s Office, Dean’s Office, Communications, Admissions and Financial Aid, Finance and HR.

2. Lead and Drive Student Engagement Programs
Lead the development and execution of innovative co-curricular programs that foster student engagement and align with FUV's mission and core competencies.
Develop and manage community service opportunities, building strong community ties and enhancing the university's community relationships.
Create opportunities for students to engage in sports, collaborating with other institutions to offer competitive experiences.
Stay informed on risk management and legal developments affecting co-curricular activities, ensuring compliance and recommending improvements.
Oversee the scheduling of student activities to maximize participation and engagement.
Design and implement First Year Experience Program including Orientation and other activities that support new students' transition to university life, focusing on their social, physical, and intellectual well-being.
Manage and develop all student-initiated clubs and organizations, including the student government, by creating a policy framework for operations and funding.
Implement strategic initiatives to enhance the student experience within clubs and organizations.

Other Duties
Contributing to team effort by welcoming new and different work requirements; exploring new opportunities to enhance the services of the department; helping others accomplish related job results as and where needed.
Other tasks and responsibilities assigned to the Employee by the Company which may be adjusted from time to time

What we look for
Education: A relevant Master's degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education Administration, or a related field.
Experience: At least 5 years of experience with proven leadership in student affairs or a related role, with a focus on internal operations and team management.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of student development theory and application, and leadership development.
Ability to actively partner with colleagues to provide them with information, technique, instruction, feedback, and encouragement to support them in their role.
Strong evidence of effective management and leadership skills, coaching and mentoring experience to support students and staff in achieving department objectives.
Willingness and ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with others; participates and fosters teamwork; promotes cooperation and commitment within a team to achieve goals.
Effectively handles highly stressful situations, making good decisions, working calmly and accurately, and helping to calm others; listens to people's ideas and concerns.
Ability to concisely and effectively communicate and interact with other individuals as well as internal and external organizations; listen accurately and actively
Ability to work independently and get things done, complete tasks and projects on time; check for accuracy of own and others' work.
Ability to use a constructive, positive and flexible approach to change.
Very strong skills in reading, writing, and communicating in English, comfortable with various technology applications and platforms.
