Ruamrudee International School Phuket is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Instructional Aide – Special Education to provide individualized support to students with special learning needs. This role also serves as a Student Support Officer, helping address general student needs and promoting positive behavior across the school.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Individualized Classroom Support
- Provide one-on-one support for students with special learning needs to help them succeed academically and socially.
- Implement tailored strategies and accommodations aligned with students’ individual learning plans.
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers to ensure consistency between support strategies and the curriculum.
- Prepare regular reports to update parents, teachers, and school leadership on student progress, achievements, and challenges.
2. Student Support Officer
- Assist in addressing general needs and behavior concerns of students across the school.
- Work with teachers and administrators to develop and apply strategies that promote a positive, inclusive learning environment.
- Document and provide feedback on student behavior and progress as needed.
3. Team Collaboration
- Collaborate actively with teachers, administrators, and other support staff as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in meetings to review and plan strategies for students with special learning needs as well as school-wide initiatives.
4. Communication
- Maintain open and effective communication with parents regarding their child’s progress and any areas of concern.
- Liaise with external specialists and experts to ensure students receive appropriate support and resources.
5. Action Planning and Monitoring
- Develop and implement action plans to address specific challenges faced by students with special learning needs.
- Monitor student progress and adjust support plans based on ongoing evaluation and feedback.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience working with students with special learning needs, ideally in an international or inclusive setting
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
- Ability to collaborate in a diverse and dynamic environment
