Highgate International School Thailand will open in August 2026. A premium international school located in the beautiful province of Chonburi, it will cater for students between the ages of 2 and 18.
Operated in partnership with Siam Motors Group and Highgate School, London, staff will enjoy access to a wide range of world-class facilities, to include a full-sized FIFA approved football pitch, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, a 450-seater auditorium, a black-box theatre, a STEM building and a Library and Digital Media Centre. They will draw upon a rich academic heritage spanning 460 years.
The Deputy Head (Academic) will:
Fully utilise a full year of pre-operation, prior to the opening of Key Stage 3 classes in 2027
Provide visionary and inspirational leadership for the planning, implementation, timetabling, operation and review of Senior School provision
Oversee the design, implementation a review of a rigorous and ambitious programme of study founded upon objectives drawn from the English National Curriculum and the broader benefits of a British education, initially under the direction of the Head of School
Demonstrate exceptional pedagogical knowledge and foster a culture where the discussion of teaching and learning is the norm
Drive exceptional academic and behavioural standards
Foster curiosity, rigour, engagement, enthusiasm, community and kindness among the student population
Work closely with the Head of School on the recruitment of a founding team
Demonstrate a commitment to professional growth and a knowledge of current educational issues and initiatives
Support the development, review and implementation of school policy as a member of the Senior Leadership Team
Work closely with the Admissions and Marketing team on the promotion of school services and the recruitment of new students
Contribute positively to a school culture founded upon the considered maintenance of high expectations
Communicate effectively with members of the wider school community
Lead regular meetings and support the safe running of the school campus
Manage resources, budgets and facilities

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
The Deputy Head (Academic) will:
Be a fully qualified secondary teacher with QTS
Have a strong track record for academic leadership at a high achieving school offering an aspirational programme of study that aligns with the English National Curriculum for students aged between 11 and 18
Have supported the leadership of accreditation or school inspection processes
Have experience of leading the development of young people who use English as an additional language
