Anglo Singapore International School is seeking a dynamic, dedicated, and experienced Head of Secondary English to lead our English teaching team in the Secondary School Division.

The ideal candidate will be a visionary academic leader with a passion for language and literature, a commitment to student success, and a strong belief in holistic education. This role requires deep expertise in the British curriculum, enhanced with Singaporean educational standards, and the ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of our diverse international student community.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead, manage, and support the Secondary English teaching team.

Develop and oversee curriculum planning and implementation in line with the British/Singapore curriculum, including IGCSE and A-Level preparation.

Monitor, assess, and enhance teaching quality and student outcomes to ensure academic excellence.

Conduct regular departmental meetings, classroom observations, and teacher evaluations.

Mentor and support teachers through coaching, peer observation, and professional development planning.

Collaborate with school leadership, parents, and other academic departments to promote a holistic and well-rounded student experience.

Organise and lead English-related initiatives, competitions, and literary events across the school.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Education, English, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent).

Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or coordinator role.

In-depth knowledge of the British curriculum and assessment frameworks, including IGCSE and A-Level English.

Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organisational skills.

Prior experience in an international school setting is highly desirable.
