The Secondary Curriculum and Professional Development Coordinator provides instructional leadership and program oversight to ensure that the school’s curriculum is coherent, aligned, and responsive to student needs. This role is central to maintaining high standards of teaching and learning through curriculum development, professional learning, data-informed decision-making, and collaborative planning.
This role works in partnership with the Secondary Principals and section leadership teams to lead curriculum alignment, coordinate assessment and reporting systems, and facilitate professional development that supports both student achievement and faculty growth.

Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment
- Lead the ongoing process of curriculum review, documentation, and refinement across all subject areas.
- Maintain curriculum documentation in Atlas and ensure consistency and quality across departments.
- Co-lead alignment of vertical and horizontal articulation across grade levels and divisions.
- Guide teachers in the design, delivery, and assessment of effective learning experiences.
- Oversee the management and analysis of schoolwide assessment data (including MAP) to inform instruction.
- Support the evaluation of student performance and program effectiveness to ensure continuous improvement.
Professional Learning and Teacher Support
- Lead section-level professional development planning, including In-Service Days, ILT alignment, and curriculum-based workshops.
- Co-lead the design and implementation of whole-school professional learning experiences.
- Provide direction for professional development initiatives aligned with schoolwide priorities and student outcomes.
- Support faculty growth through coaching, curriculum mentoring, and facilitation of best instructional practices.
- Assist in the development of teacher leadership through collaboration with Department Heads and mentoring of new teachers.
Data, Reporting, and Schoolwide Coordination
- Co-lead the Curriculum Review and Reporting process, ensuring cross-departmental collaboration and documentation.
- Co-lead in Instructional Leadership Team (ILT) meetings to ensure strategic coherence between curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
- Develop systems for collecting, analyzing, and reporting student learning data in accessible formats.
- Collaborate with AP/IB Coordinators to ensure alignment between international program standards and school goals.
Leadership and Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with the Secondary Principals and section leadership teams on curriculum and instructional priorities.
- Serve as a co-leader in key planning structures such as Schoolwide PD, ILT, and curriculum review cycles.
- Work with Department Heads to align departmental goals with schoolwide strategic objectives.
- Foster a culture of reflective practice, collaboration, and continuous improvement among faculty.
- Contribute to school leadership decision-making through data-informed insights and curricular expertise.
Other Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of new initiatives related to student learning and program innovation.

- Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to collaborate
- A commitment to the development of a learning community
- Knowledge of and experience in curriculum development, implementation, and assessment
- An ability to facilitate collaboration within and across the sections and content areas
Q u a l i f i c a t i o n s & r e q u i r e m e n t s
- Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction preferred
- Current teaching certification
- Skilled at integrating instructional technology into curriculum
- Experience in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation
- Leadership experience in organizing or coordinating in-service programs and professional development processes
- Minimum of 5 years teaching experience, international school experience preferred
