Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Secondary Chemistry Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will bring strong subject expertise, excellent communication skills, and a dedication to student success. You will inspire students to reach their potential, contribute to the school community, and actively participate in ongoing professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teaching & Learning
- Teach Chemistry to secondary students (Grades 7–12) using well-structured, differentiated lessons tailored to students’ abilities and curriculum standards.
- Create a stimulating classroom environment that fosters enthusiasm and motivation for Chemistry.
- Develop, plan, and deliver interactive, lab-based, and theoretical lessons using varied teaching strategies and technology to accommodate diverse learners, including those with special educational needs.
- Assess, record, and monitor student progress; provide timely, constructive feedback and communicate regularly with parents and guardians.
- Set and mark homework aligned with school policy and student workload.
- Promote high standards of behavior, punctuality, and organization in the classroom.
- Use English as a medium of instruction, supporting English for Academic Progress where necessary.
- Collaborate with the Head of Department, Academic Support, and counseling services to support students’ academic and pastoral needs.
2. School & Departmental Contributions
- Promote a positive school culture through collaboration with colleagues, participating in departmental and school-wide initiatives, meetings, and professional development.
- Contribute to curriculum development, cross-curricular projects, and leadership activities within the school.
- Maintain professional dialogue to share ideas and best practices in teaching and learning.
- Participate actively in extracurricular activities, demonstrating commitment to the whole-child approach.
- Support the effective and efficient operation of the school by undertaking additional duties as requested by school leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Science, Education or a related field (required)
- Proven experience teaching Chemistry at the secondary level
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Enthusiastic about education and ongoing professional growth
