Job overview
An outstanding and inspirational Teacher of Science is required from August 2027 (The possibility exists for an early start).
The School:
Charter International School is a well-established international school located in Bangkok, Thailand. The school is fully accredited by both CIS and WASC and is a member of the FOBISIA and TISAC groups.  We follow the English National Curriculum, IPC, IGCSE and A Level curricula. The school has just over 500 students from nursery to A Level.

Set on a green, purpose-built campus near central Bangkok, we provide a friendly, community-focused environment in one of the world’s most culturally rich cities. With over 30 nationalities represented, Charter is a warm, diverse, and inclusive community. We are committed to ensuring every student feels a strong sense of belonging and is supported to flourish academically, socially, and emotionally in line with our guiding statements.

Charter International School has a strong reputation for academic success, with students annually receiving offers from top universities around the world as well as regularly winning awards for academic excellence. In KS3, students follow a modified version of the English National Curriculum, adapted for our international context, which leads into iGCSE and A Level qualifications at KS4/5.

We are seeking a qualified and passionate teacher of Science with experience in the English National Curriculum.  The ability to teach a science at both iGCSE and A Level is essential.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of evidence-based teaching strategies and how to apply them in an international setting. Although the vast majority of our students take first language English, it is still not their mother tongue. Therefore, an understanding of teaching in an international setting would be a distinct advantage. They will also be someone who values collaboration and builds trusting, positive relationships across our school community. They will model kindness, openness, and professionalism, be well-organised, and want to participate fully in the wider life of the school. They will be committed to ongoing professional development, model the qualities of a lifelong learner, and be dedicated to providing the very best learning experiences for their students within an inclusive school community.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to all aspects of teaching and learning in the department from Y7 up to KS5.

Interested candidates are encouraged to submit their applications promptly, as we may begin the selection process before the closing date.

When preparing your letter of application, please address the following areas, which align with the vision for our primary school.

  • Your understanding of what high-quality inclusive English teaching looks like within an international school setting

  • How you effectively use data to inform teaching and learning and raise standards

  • Your understanding and experiences of instructional coaching
