We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Science Laboratory Technician to join the academic support team at Meritton British International School, which is a Cambridge International British School based in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The Laboratory Technician will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of high-quality science education across the whole school community.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and set up apparatus, equipment, and materials for practical science lessons and demonstrations across Physics, Chemistry, Biology and other Science courses.
* Ensure all laboratory equipment, including specialized apparatus and instruments, is properly cleaned, maintained, calibrated, and stored.
* Strictly enforce and adhere to all school and international health and safety regulations within the science laboratories, including safe handling and disposal of chemicals and hazardous waste.
* Manage and maintain accurate inventory records of all laboratory chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
* Assist the Science teachers in generating and fulfilling orders.
* Provide technical support to teachers during practical lessons, ensuring experiments run smoothly and assisting students with equipment use.
* Assist in the construction or modification of equipment, and the development of new practical activities.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
* A bachelor’s degree in a relevant science discipline (e.g., Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or Laboratory Science).
* Proven, hands-on experience working in a science laboratory setting (academic or industrial).
* Experience working in a school environment is highly desirable.
* Familiarity with the practical requirements and specifications of the Cambridge International IGCSE and A-Level Science syllabi is a significant advantage.
* Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills. A meticulous approach to safety and record-keeping is essential.
* A proactive and flexible attitude, with a willingness to support a dynamic teaching environment.
