High School Science Laboratory Assistant

Preferred Qualifications:
The candidate---
● Is a Native English Speaker (NES) or Non-Native English Speaker (NNES) with evidence of English language proficiency (i.e. exam results on the TOEIC test or equivalent); NNES applications without evidence of English language proficiency will not be considered.
● Possesses a degree and educational background in a Science subject specialty (with transcript).
● Is knowledgeable and experienced in managing a science laboratory (preferably experienced in Thailand and in a secondary school environment)
● Is fully aware of Thai school cultural expectations for foreign staff/teachers.
● Has at least one verifiable professional reference from a recent employer; direct reporting supervisor preferred.
● Is computer literate: professional use of Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, file-sharing programs, etc.
● Is available to do an in-person interview at our school in Bangkok.
The primary duties of the Lab Assistant includes the following:
1. Keeps track of materials borrowed by teachers and students.
2. Support to teachers and other faculty, as needed; always keeping the best interests of the students in mind.
3. Maintains inventory of laboratory equipment and supplies. (in cloud storage database)
4. Fill in for teachers when absent, ensuring lesson plans are adhered to and maintain control of the classroom.
5. Maintain lab bulletin boards/displays that represent student’s interest & learning.
6. Assists science teachers in testing out new laboratory experiments prior to classroom implementation.
7. Assists students and teachers in conducting practicals and experiments.
8. Collects and distributes lab materials.
9. Occasionally performs other work/duties as required by the Principal/Head of Department.

The starting salary package for the lab assistant position includes a salary of 20,000 Baht and 7,500 Baht housing allowance per month (before tax) plus other benefits.
