Primary PE / Swimming Teacher
Prasarnmit Primary International Programme is seeking an enthusiastic and inspirational Primary PE / Swimming Teacher to join our team. We are looking for a motivated professional with a passion for physical education and child wellbeing, who is committed to delivering high-quality learning experiences for primary-aged children within a positive, inclusive, and child-centred environment.
Qualifications
A degree in a relevant subject and a PGCE or equivalent qualification leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Role and Responsibilities
Plan and deliver high-quality PE and swimming lessons appropriate for primary-aged pupils, ensuring lessons are safe, engaging, and accessible to all learners.
Develop, review, and adapt the primary PE and swimming curriculum to meet the needs of a diverse international cohort.
Organise and lead primary extracurricular sports activities, including coaching clubs such as football and basketball.
Support the organisation and delivery of primary sports days, swimming galas, inter-house events, and whole-school physical activities.
Assist with the organisation of GBAC primary fixtures and attend inter-school competitions where required.
Produce online learning resources, including age-appropriate fitness and movement videos, when necessary.
Assess pupils’ progress in PE and swimming and provide clear written reports and constructive feedback to parents.
Build and maintain positive professional relationships with pupils, parents, colleagues, and the wider school community.
Work collaboratively with colleagues and school leadership to raise standards and promote pupil wellbeing.
Engage fully in professional development, including INSET days and reflective practice.
Act as a positive role model, promoting healthy lifestyles, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Skills and Attributes
Essential
A strong understanding of how primary-aged children learn through physical activity, and the ability to translate this into effective PE and swimming lessons.
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills, creating a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
Good athletic ability and knowledge of physical development in children.
Strong communication, organisation, and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young learners.
Experience of, or the ability to plan for, EAL learners within a primary PE context.
The ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative primary team.
Adaptability and resilience when working in an international and cross-cultural setting.
A clear commitment to safeguarding and child protection, acting professionally at all times.
Creativity, initiative, and reflective practice to provide engaging and meaningful learning experiences.
A commitment to upholding Thai cultural respect, international-mindedness, and school values.
Requirements
Essential
A minimum of one year’s teaching experience in a primary setting.
Fluent spoken and written English.
An up-to-date DBS check (or equivalent police clearance).
Secure knowledge of the UK Primary National Curriculum.
Desirable
Experience working in an international primary school.
Experience supporting EAL learners.
Contract and Benefits
