HeadStart's Chaofah campus is based in the centre of Phuket Island and gained ‘International School’ status in 2010. Chaofah is our main campus and has over 1000 students. It is oversubscribed in most year groups.
From August 2026, we will expand our Upper School site and provision at Chaofah, to make 'HeadStart College' the premier educational institution in the South of Thailand.
In August 2023, we opened a second campus in the north of the island, Cherngtalay. Having started as a one-form Foundation and Primary school, our Cherngtalay Campus is now a three-form entry Foundation, Primary and Secondary School (KS3 only) with over 600 students.
HeadStart school is a fully accredited International School with The Education Development Trust. In our most recent inspection, we were awarded the International Schools Quality Mark (ISQM) with accreditors recognising the school to be an ‘Good School with Outstanding Features’.
Our curriculum is based on the National Curriculum of England, and we offer Cambridge & Pearson qualifications in secondary school, including IGCSEs, A Levels, and BTECs.
Primary Deputy Head (Academic) –
We are looking to appoint an experienced and inspirational educational leader as Deputy Head of Primary (Academic), starting in August 2027.
The successful candidate will have responsibility for curriculum and standards across the Primary school. They will have the personal qualities to lead under the direction of the Head of Foundation and Primary, leading by example and commanding the respect of pupils, colleagues, and parents.
The Deputy Head of Primary (Academic) will work in partnership with the Head of Foundation and Primary to promote the educational direction of the school. They will have a proven track record of outstanding teaching and be passionate about innovative teaching and learning. They will be committed to curriculum development; ensuring that our dynamic curriculum remains a relevant, broad and enriching curriculum where every pupil is inspired and allowed to achieve.
The successful candidate will draw upon their teaching experience to serve as an expert resource, mentor or coach for new and developing teachers within the Primary Stage of the school.
We are looking for a highly committed team player with drive, energy and passion, who will inspire a love of learning within their students. A good sense of humour and an excellent work ethic are essential.

Essential Requirements:
Excellent knowledge of the National Curriculum for England for KS1 & KS2
Experience of teaching in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2
Ability to motivate and inspire staff and to drive school improvement
A proven track record of whole school improvement
At least 4 years experience in a leadership and management role
Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university
A recognised teaching qualification: BEd.; PGCE; or equivalent
Must be a fluent English speaker
Desirable Requirements (not essential):
Previous experience in an international school environment
Experience teaching English as an Additional Language learners
