Position: PE and Swimming Teacher (Nursery–Year 7)
Beaconhouse Yamsaard International School (BYIS), Pattanakarn Campus, is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced PE and Swimming Teacher to join our team.

 

The successful candidate will deliver safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate Physical Education and swimming lessons for students from Nursery to Year 7, helping every child develop confidence, physical literacy, teamwork, and a lifelong enjoyment of physical activity.

Key Responsibilities
Physical Education
Plan and deliver high-quality PE lessons for Nursery–Year 7.
Teach age-appropriate fundamental movement skills, gymnastics, athletics, games, fitness, and team sports.
Adapt lessons to meet students’ different ages, abilities, and learning needs.
Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, resilience, confidence, and healthy lifestyles.
Establish clear routines and maintain positive behaviour during lessons.
Assess students’ physical development and provide meaningful feedback.
Maintain accurate lesson plans, assessment records, and progress reports.
Organise and support sports days, competitions, after-school clubs, and other school events.
Swimming Instruction
Deliver safe, structured, and engaging swimming lessons.
Introduce younger children to water through confidence-building and play-based activities.
Teach water safety, floating, breathing, body position, kicking, and basic stroke techniques.
Develop older students’ swimming strokes, stamina, coordination, and personal survival skills.
Group and support students according to their confidence and swimming ability.
Monitor students carefully in and around the swimming pool.
Work closely with co-teachers and poolside staff to maintain safe supervision.
Conduct safety checks and ensure that all swimming equipment is used appropriately.
Follow the school’s swimming, safeguarding, health, and emergency procedures at all times.

Professional Responsibilities
Create a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment.
Communicate professionally with students, parents, colleagues, and school leaders.
Participate in staff meetings, professional development, school events, and extracurricular activities.
Work collaboratively with homeroom teachers, co-teachers, and the leadership team.
Maintain and organise PE and swimming equipment.
Support school cover lessons or additional duties when reasonably required.
Demonstrate high standards of professionalism, punctuality, and safeguarding.

Qualifications and Experience
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, Education, or a related field.
Relevant experience teaching PE and swimming to children.
Ability to teach students across a wide age range, from Nursery to Year 7.
Strong knowledge of water safety and swimming instruction.
Excellent communication, classroom-management, and organisational skills.
A positive, energetic, patient, and child-centred approach.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting students’ health and well-being.
Eligibility to obtain a Thai visa, work permit, and teaching licence or waiver.
Preferred
Recognised swimming instructor or coaching qualification.
Current first-aid, CPR, or lifesaving certification.
Lifeguard or water-rescue training.
Experience working in a British or international school.
Experience leading sports teams, competitions, sports days, or extracurricular clubs.
Knowledge of the UK National Curriculum for Physical Education and the EYFS Framework.

Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience: 27,000 THB to 30,000 THB per month depending on experience and qualifications.
