
Music facilitator position
Pan-Asia International School (an IB World School), Bangkok is seeking well qualified Music Facilitator starting on July 21, 2025.
Applicant should be well qualified in the field. He/she should have a pleasing personality, good work ethics and a proven track record of graduating students.
All applicants for a teaching position at Pan – Asia International School must have at least a ‘teaching degree’ and a minimum of two-three consecutive years teaching experience. These are some of the requirements foreign national needs to work as a teacher in Thailand in order to obtain a work permit. This role requires a passionate and experienced music educator who can guide students through a comprehensive music curriculum with a strong emphasis on the IB Programme framework. Facilitator will foster advanced musicianship, critical thinking about music, and practical instrumental skills.
Key Responsibilities:
-Implement IB Music Curriculum: Design and deliver engaging lessons that align with the objectives and assessment criteria of the IB music program, encouraging inquiry-based learning and interdisciplinary connections.
-Develop music literacy: Facilitating advanced music reading and writing skills, including notation, sight-reading, and composition.
-Enhance musicianship skills: Cultivate a wide range of musicianship skills, including aural training, improvisation, and ensemble playing.
-Promote music appreciation: Introduce students to diverse musical genres, cultures, and historical periods, fostering an understanding and appreciation of music's role in society.
-Facilitate music theory: Provide a solid foundation in music theory concepts, progressing from foundational elements to more complex structures.
-Instrumental instruction: Provide instruction on Ukulele, Piano, Melodion, and Drums.
-Ensemble leadership: Direct and rehearse marching band and rock band ensembles, fostering teamwork and performance excellence.
-Welcome additional instrumental expertise: Integrate and provide instruction for other instruments based on teacher expertise and student interest.
-Facilitate performance opportunities: Organize and prepare students for various performance opportunities, including school concerts, community events, and IB MYP personal projects.
-Assess and provide feedback: Continuously assess student progress against IB MYP criteria and provide constructive feedback to support their musical growth.
-Foster creativity and critical thinking: Encourage students to explore, create, and critically analyze music.
Desired Qualifications:
Educational Background:
-Bachelor's or Master's degree in Music Education, Performance, Theory, or a related field.
-Valid teaching certification (where applicable).
-Prior experience or training in the IB Programme is highly preferred.
Experience:
-Proven experience teaching music to Primary/Middle and/or High school students.
-Experience in developing and implementing comprehensive music curricula, particularly within an inquiry-based framework.
-Experience directing and rehearsing musical ensembles (e.g., marching band, rock band).
Musical Proficiency:
-Strong theoretical knowledge and practical proficiency across various instruments, with demonstrated ability to teach Ukulele, Piano, Melodion, and Drums.
-Proficiency in music reading, writing, and composition.
-Strong aural skills and the ability to teach advanced musicianship concepts.
-Ability to teach and direct various musical styles and genres.
-Proficiency in additional instruments is a significant asset.
Pedagogical Skills:
-Deep understanding of the IB MYP philosophy, approaches to learning (ATL), and assessment methodologies.
-Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, from beginners to more advanced students.
-Excellent classroom management and organizational skills.
-Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
-Ability to inspire critical thinking, creativity, and a lifelong appreciation for music.

For this position above, PAIS requires at least a Bachelor's Degree in the field and a minimum of 2 - 3 years of teaching experience in international schools. Degree in education and IB school teaching experience will be an added plus.
