
Ruamrudee International School (RIS) is seeking a caring, collaborative, and committed Middle School/High School Drama Teacher who will lead, inspire, and promote student learning across academic courses and theatrical productions. The role includes teaching IB Theatre Arts (HL and SL), Drama, Public Speaking/Speech & Debate, and Theatre Technology. In addition, the teacher directs three major theatre productions each year—the High School Musical, a High School play, and a Middle School production—working in close partnership with the Performing Arts department, and with the Religion Program to direct yearly Christmas/Easter performances as needed.
The successful candidate will demonstrate deep knowledge of drama education, adolescent development, and the power of the arts to foster belonging, identity, and confidence in young people. They will embrace RIS’s teaching principles, ensuring that instruction and performance opportunities cultivate not only artistic skill but also positive behavior, social-emotional growth, and community connection.

Design curriculum and instruction using backward planning (UbD), integrating inquiry, collaboration, and creative problem-solving.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners and embed SEL competencies—such as self-awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making—into classroom and performance work.
Foster positive behavior and belonging by establishing a supportive ensemble culture where every student has a valued role.
Use standards-based assessment and reporting to provide clear feedback on student growth and achievement.
Collaborate with colleagues in the Performing Arts department, the Religion department, and across disciplines to design interdisciplinary opportunities.
Actively contribute to the life of the school through performances, events, and student support.
Model and uphold RIS’s professional expectations, including its commitment to child safeguarding.
