Middle School Principal – Raffles American School
Working Hours: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Reports To: Executive Principal
The Middle School Principal plays a key leadership role in shaping and guiding the Middle School program at Raffles American School. This position is responsible for overseeing the Middle School division, supporting teachers, and ensuring a strong academic and pastoral environment for students.
The Principal works closely with the school’s leadership team on both strategic and operational matters, contributing to the ongoing development of the school. The role includes oversight of curriculum implementation, support for accreditation processes, and ensuring alignment with school standards and long-term goals.
As the school continues to grow, the Middle School Principal will also contribute to short- and long-term planning initiatives, including the development of the school’s new campus. This includes designing programs and systems that meet the evolving needs of Middle School students.
This role is part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), working collaboratively to ensure consistency, alignment, and continuous improvement across the school.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide leadership and oversight for the Middle School division.
• Supervise, support, and evaluate middle school teachers and staff.
• Foster a collaborative and professional culture within the middle school team.
• Oversee curriculum implementation and alignment with school standards.
• Support accreditation processes and school improvement initiatives.
• Monitor student progress and support systems that promote academic success and student well-being.
• Address student behavioral and disciplinary matters with fairness, professionalism, and consistency.
• Communicate effectively with parents, students, and staff.
• Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team on school-wide initiatives and strategic planning.
• Contribute to planning related to the school’s growth and future campus development.
• Lead and support professional development initiatives for middle school faculty.
• Work with teachers to identify instructional priorities and areas for growth.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Valid teaching qualification or license.
• Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience.
• At least 2 years of leadership experience in a school setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage a variety of situations with professionalism, tact, and adaptability.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively as part of a leadership team.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience in an international school environment is an advantage, but not required.

We offer competitive salaries, with fully qualified and licensed teachers for full-time roles. There is no additional housing stipend. Overseas candidates will be reimbursed for their flight to Thailand (guidelines will be shared by HR with the successful candidate) and provided round-trip airfare to their home country at the end of each two-year contract. Visa and work permit expenses will be reimbursed by RAS. Medical, accident, disability, and life insurance are also provided.
