About the Post
We are seeking a highly able and experienced teacher to lead the thriving Chemistry Department at Wellington College International Bangkok. Nearly half of our Sixth Form students choose Chemistry at A level, reflecting its popularity and strength within the College. The IGCSE results last year were very impressive with 92% of students achieving 9-8 grades in the Edexcel IGCSE, and we are now looking forward to celebrating our first A Level results this summer with our inaugural Year 13 cohort.
Our Science Department boasts seven purpose-built laboratories and three full-time technicians, ensuring outstanding support for teaching and learning. In KS3, we teach a bespoke programme which aims to foster analytic and labwork skills in preparation for the Edexcel IGCSE which is taught through Years 10 and 11. At A level students study the Edexcel International A level course. Beyond the classroom, we offer a rich array of enrichment opportunities, including KS3 Science Club, the popular CREST Award programme, Medics Society, and prestigious competitions such as the Chemistry Olympiad.
Experience of working in top British schools, particularly in the UK but of course also internationally, is very important and UK teaching qualifications essential. Our teachers need an unquenchable desire to make things better: excellent knowledge, skills and understanding are requirements, but we are always trying to improve, to redefine, to grow. The House System is a fundamental part of life at WCIB and teachers in the Senior School are also House Tutors.

Wellington College Bangkok opened in August 2018 and will grow to accommodate 1,600 girls and boys aged 2-18 years.
