We are seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Kindergarten Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years team. The successful candidate will work closely with the classroom teacher to support student learning, well-being, safety, and positive classroom experiences.

Position: Kindergarten Teaching Assistant
Location: ASBGV – Green Valley Campus
Education Stage: Early Years / Kindergarten
Curriculum: Common Core
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the classroom teacher with daily lessons, activities, learning centers, and classroom routines.
  • Provide individual and small-group support under the direction of the classroom teacher.
  • Help prepare learning materials and maintain an organized, welcoming, and age-appropriate classroom environment.
  • Support students' academic, social, emotional, and physical development.
  • Encourage positive behavior, independence, cooperation, and respectful interactions.
  • Supervise students carefully during classroom activities, transitions, meals, recess, field trips, and other school activities.
  • Support students who may require additional learning, behavioral, social-emotional, or developmental support, under the guidance of the classroom teacher and Learning Support team.
  • Observe students and communicate relevant concerns or changes in behavior, learning, or well-being to the classroom teacher.
  • Follow school procedures regarding student safety, safeguarding, confidentiality, health, and emergency situations.
  • Work collaboratively and professionally with teachers, specialists, administrators, and other members of the school community.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience or a background in Learning Support, Special Education, or supporting students with diverse learning needs is highly preferred.
  • Experience working with young children in a school, childcare, or educational setting.
  • Understanding of early childhood development and age-appropriate learning practices.
  • Ability to follow teacher direction while taking appropriate initiative when supporting students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work patiently and positively with young children.
  • Good organizational and classroom-support skills.
  • Basic proficiency in English; additional language skills are an advantage.
  • Willingness to participate in professional development and school training.
