Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Physical Education to Kindergarten and Primary students using engaging, age-appropriate, and student-centred approaches.

  • Plan and deliver well-structured, differentiated lessons that develop fundamental movement skills, physical fitness, coordination, and teamwork.

  • Promote healthy lifestyles, sportsmanship, resilience, and positive attitudes towards physical activity.

  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support individual development.

  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that encourages active participation from all students.

  • Organise and support school sporting events, activities, and inter-house competitions.

  • Ensure the safe use and maintenance of sports equipment and facilities.

  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding students’ progress, participation, and physical development.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to support cross-curricular learning and contribute to the wider school community.

  • Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development opportunities.

  • Uphold school policies, including safeguarding, health and safety, and student wellbeing.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education

  • Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. B.Ed., PGCE, or equivalent).

  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ teaching experience, preferably in Kindergarten and/or Primary Physical Education.

  • Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate physical education practices.

  • Experience in planning and delivering engaging PE programmes for young learners.

  • Strong proficiency in English for teaching and professional communication.

  • Excellent classroom management, organisational, and communication skills.

  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of varying abilities and backgrounds.

  • A commitment to promoting health, wellbeing, and lifelong physical activity.

  • Experience with international curricula, including Cambridge, is an advantage but not essential.
