Job Overview

Wycombe Abbey is synonymous worldwide with excellence, aspiration and the highest standards of pastoral and academic care. Now, for the first time in Thailand, we are bringing this world class British education to Bangkok. Benefitting from a 66-acre site, making it one of the largest international school campuses in the Bangkok metropolitan area, with outstanding sporting facilities and state of the art classrooms.

We are seeking outstanding teachers and senior leaders to become Founding Staff of Wycombe Abbey International School Bangkok, opening August 2026. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to shape a new school from the ground up—its culture, its curriculum, its traditions and its community.

Wycombe Abbey International School Bangkok, will be located on a 66 acre site in a green development, the current VERSO International School campus near Suvarnabhumi International Airport. Offering a full British curriculum pathway, including iGCSEs and A Levels, designed to meet the needs of international and local families seeking academic excellence, holistic learning, and outstanding pastoral care. As part of the school’s development, pupils will benefit from access to the excellent sports facilities at the nearby Thana City Country Club, including golf, tennis, and squash, significantly enriching the co-curricular and sporting opportunities available to every year group. In addition, the Bangkok campus will introduce a comprehensive boarding programme, offering full, weekly, and flexi boarding options, aligned with the traditions and strengths of the Wycombe Abbey worldwide.

The Bangkok campus will join our connected network of Wycombe Abbey schools in the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Changzhou, Hangzhou, Nanjing, and soon Singapore and Incheon, South Korea. Together, these schools are building an international ecosystem that supports student and staff exchanges, joint academic initiatives, professional collaboration, and a shared commitment to developing compassionate, confident global citizens.

This is not simply the opening of a new school. It is a celebration of what makes Wycombe Abbey exceptional; our academic ambition, our dedication to character development, and our belief that Every Child Can Excel. We look forward to welcoming many new staff and families into our community.

Living and Working in Thailand

Living and working in Thailand offers teachers a wonderful quality of life. Colleagues enjoy a warm, welcoming culture, outstanding food, vibrant arts and festivals, and easy access to some of the world’s most beautiful beaches and landscapes. Bangkok itself is a dynamic, modern city with excellent transport, healthcare and amenities, while also providing a rich sense of tradition and community. Many teachers appreciate the attractive cost of living, which allows for a comfortable lifestyle and the opportunity to travel widely throughout the region. With a strong professional network of international educators and an enviable work life balance, Thailand is an exciting, inspiring and rewarding place to live and grow both personally and professionally.

The Package

We provide an attractive and competitive package, including low taxation, an annual bonus, annual flight allowance, relocation allowance, medical insurance (including dependent family), accommodation school fee remission (100% for up to two children) and free school meals. With Thailand’s low cost of living, staff can enjoy an excellent lifestyle, opportunities for regional travel and the ability to save.

Onboarding

From the moment you accept an offer, our dedicated HR and onboarding team will support every stage of your move to Bangkok. Colleagues benefit from a comprehensive induction programme that introduces them to life in Thailand, our school culture and the practicalities of settling into a new city. Offering guidance on visas, shipping, accommodation or living in Bangkok, our team is on hand to ensure a smooth, positive transition and a confident start to your new role.

As a founding colleague, you will:
  • Help craft a truly exceptional learning experience rooted in the Wycombe Abbey values of excellence, integrity, compassion and ambition.
  • Work in a dynamic, forward thinking and highly supportive environment.
  • Influence curriculum development, pastoral structures and co-curricular innovation from day one.
  • Join a global family of schools committed to academic rigour, character development and preparing young people to thrive in an ever changing world.
  • Make a profound, lasting impact on the lives of pupils and the formation of a new educational community.
  • Opportunities to work with our boarders may also be available.
      Experience and Qualifications
  • A relevant undergraduate degree alongside a UK PGCE or an equivalent teaching qualification that confers QTS.
  • At least three years of successful classroom practice.
  • Strong understanding of the English National Curriculum, with experience teaching IGCSE/GCSE and/or A Level programmes where appropriate.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for teaching and a commitment to developing the whole child—academically, personally and socially.
  • A professional, caring approach with a clear focus on pupil wellbeing and safeguarding.
  • A proven track record of contributing to wider school life through co-curricular or enrichment activities.
  • The ability to work respectfully and collaboratively within a diverse school community.
  • Experience supporting pupils for whom English is an additional language.
  • A positive, resilient and solution focussed approach to daily school life and to teamwork.
  • Fully satisfactory police clearance(s) from the applicant’s home country and from all countries of previous employment, with no concerns regarding suitability to work with children.
  • Strong written references from current and former employers.
