Key Stage 1 Classroom Teacher

Prasarnmit Primary International Programme is seeking an enthusiastic, fully qualified, and inspiring Key Stage 1 Teacher to join our Primary team in August 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for someone ready to step into a warm, supportive, and well-resourced environment.
Our Key Stage 1 classes offer a nurturing yet structured learning environment that facilitates a smooth transition from the Early Years into more formal learning. We are looking for a teacher who can build strong relationships with children and parents, and create a classroom where curiosity, independence, and a love of learning flourish.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Education (Honours) with QTS or equivalent (e.g., PGCE/i, PGDE)
Additional Key Stage 1/Primary-specific training or qualifications are highly desirable
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons that cover the Key Stage 1 National Curriculum and support children’s academic, social, and emotional development.
Create a positive, stimulating, and well-organised classroom environment with age-appropriate resources that encourage independence and collaboration.
Track and assess pupil progress through regular observations, formative assessments, and summative reporting.
Maintain effective communication with parents, providing both written reports and informal updates on children’s progress and well-being.
Work closely with co-teachers and the wider Primary team to ensure consistency, high standards of teaching, and strong pastoral care.
Support children in developing strong foundations in literacy and numeracy, including daily phonics and guided reading.
Contribute to wider school life, including assemblies, performances, trips, and community events.
Ensure the highest standards of safeguarding, health, and safety at all times.
Skills & Attributes
A strong understanding of how young children learn in Key Stage 1, balancing structured teaching with creativity and exploration.
Knowledge and experience of teaching early reading and writing, including phonics (Read Write Inc. or similar preferred).
Excellent classroom management skills with a positive, supportive approach.
Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Flexibility, patience, and enthusiasm when adapting lessons to meet the needs of EAL learners and children with different abilities.
Ability to foster independence, resilience, and curiosity in young learners.
Requirements
Minimum 1 year of teaching experience in a Primary or Key Stage 1 setting.
Fluent English speaker.
Up-to-date DBS or police clearance to work with children.
Knowledge of the UK National Curriculum for Key Stage 1 is essential; experience with the IPC is advantageous.
Experience supporting EAL learners is beneficial.
