Wellington College International Bangkok welcomes applications for our new Junior School Deputy Head Pastoral.
The Deputy Head (Pastoral) will be the key pastoral leader for the Junior School. They will set and sustain a culture in which every child is known, safe, happy, and flourishing, ensuring staff are supported to deliver consistently excellent pastoral care. The role will provide the strategic leadership for behaviour, safeguarding, inclusion, attendance, and family partnerships. They will be actively involved in supporting all teachers and families as required, and will also serve as DSL for the Junior School ensuring robust safeguarding practice and compliance.
Experience of working in top British schools, particularly in the UK but of course also internationally, is very important and UK teaching qualifications essential. Our teachers and leaders need an unquenchable desire to make things better: excellent knowledge, skills and understanding are requirements, but we are always trying to improve, to redefine, to grow. If you simply like the idea of doing what you have always done – or what everyone else always does – but with nicer weather and great beaches nearby, this is the wrong school for you. Yes, the weather and beaches are great; but we are here to do things better, to work harder (yes – not just smarter), to be more committed, to get better outcomes, to give more attention, than we have ever done.
