We are looking for an adaptable, experienced, and committed Teacher with IELTS and EAL experience, who has high expectations of children's learning, and an enthusiasm and passion for working with young people. The successful candidate needs to be able to demonstrate clear spoken English, excellent classroom practice, the ability to motivate students, and a willingness to work in partnership with the staff team.

Candidates are expected to:
- English native speaker
- Be currently in Bangkok, Thailand (desirable)
- Be enthusiastic, adaptable, and highly committed
- Have a Bachelor's Degree
- Have a relevant TEFL qualification (Cambridge CELTA/DELTA or Trinity CertTESOL or equivalent)
- Have relevant IELTS certifications/training (desirables)
- Have some knowledge of the England & Wales Curriculum (desirable)
- Have a minimum of one year’s teaching/support experience (desirable)
- Have had previous experience working in Thailand (desirable, but not essential)
Interviews will be held in Bangkok or via Google Meet during May/June 2026.
JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality English language instruction to students who are non-native speakers, supporting their language acquisition and proficiency across all phases of the school.
- Deliver targeted IELTS preparation programmes, supporting students to achieve their required band scores for university entry.
- Collaborate with mainstream teachers to differentiate instruction and support EAL students in accessing the curriculum.
- Assess students' language proficiency levels and IELTS readiness, monitoring progress through ongoing formative and summative assessments.
- Design and implement instructional strategies and materials that cater to the diverse linguistic needs of EAL learners and the specific demands of IELTS.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes language development,
Aims:
- Support EAL students in developing their English language skills to achieve academic success and full integration into the mainstream school environment.
- Prepare students effectively for IELTS examinations, enabling access to higher education opportunities.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that values linguistic diversity and cultural awareness.
Purpose:
- Deliver high-quality English language and IELTS instruction that addresses the language acquisition and examination needs of EAL students.
- Collaborate with colleagues and parents to provide holistic support for EAL learners, promoting academic, linguistic, and social-emotional development.
Teaching & Learning:
- Implement effective teaching strategies and pedagogical approaches to facilitate language acquisition and IELTS performance.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse linguistic needs and proficiency levels of EAL learners.
- Provide structured opportunities for IELTS practice, including speaking, listening, reading, and writing components.
- Use a range of resources and techniques to develop both academic English and exam-specific skills.
Assessment and Feedback:
- Assess students' language proficiency and IELTS readiness using a range of assessment methods, including mock examinations, observations, and student work.
- Provide timely, specific, and constructive feedback to support both language development and IELTS performance.
- Collaborate with mainstream teachers to align assessment practices and support EAL students' participation in standardised assessments.
- Track and report on student progress towards IELTS target band scores.
Curriculum Integration:
- Integrate language instruction with content-based learning to support EAL students' access to the mainstream curriculum.
- Embed academic English skills required for IELTS within subject contexts where appropriate.
- Collaborate with subject teachers to identify language objectives and support EAL students in understanding subject-specific content.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with colleagues, including mainstream teachers, learning support staff, and administrators, to support the academic and social-emotional development of EAL students.
- Liaise with Sixth Form, university guidance teams, and leadership regarding IELTS requirements and student pathways.
- Participate in team meetings, professional development activities, and parent conferences to share strategies and student progress.
Professional Development:
- Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance expertise in EAL teaching, second language acquisition, and IELTS preparation.
- Remain up to date with IELTS requirements, assessment criteria, and best practice in exam preparation.
- Reflect on teaching practices and student outcomes to continually improve instructional effectiveness.
Communication with Parents:
- Communicate regularly with parents to provide updates on students' language development, academic progress, and IELTS readiness.
- Guide how parents can support English language development and exam preparation at home.
Student Support:
- Provide academic and pastoral support to EAL students, supporting both language acquisition and examination confidence.
- Support students in setting realistic IELTS targets and developing effective revision strategies.
- Advocate for the needs of EAL learners and collaborate with school support services to address individual needs.
