Required from 13 August to 17 October, 2025

NIST is looking for an effective and collaborative teacher to join our team. The preferred candidate will have experience teaching mathematics in Middle School (and one year 10 class), as well as the requisite teaching qualifications for mathematics. Spoken and written English must be at a very proficient level.

-  Excellent references indicating a passion for mathematics

-  High expectations for all students

-  Belief that mathematics is fun (with the necessary learning activities to activate such an outcome)

-  Appreciation that beliefs and attitudes (growth mindset/ resilience) are essential for success

-  Appreciation of the impact of formative assessment (as, for, and of learning)

-  Creativity permits students to demonstrate their learning through multiple channels

-  Use supportive practices for students with various degrees of English proficiency and learning support needs

-  Willingness to support students beyond designated classes should the need arise

-  Ability to teach across a range of abilities and motivations

-  Ensuring students authentically understand the what, why, and how they learn

-  Willingness to seek pre-emptive support when uncertain

-  Help with Learning Centre (after-school mathematics support)

-  Perform duties in accordance with NIST’s Professional and Child Safeguarding Codes of Conduct

-  Support the school community, professional standards, and trust

-  Demonstrate at all times the learner profile attributes/ dispositions

-  Complete all duties as defined by the school's leadership for the designated role
