G E N E R A L D E S C R I P T I O N

RIS seeks a student-centered and engaging High School IB DP Spanish Teacher who will lead, inspire, and promote deep learning across a range of courses, including IB Spanish B SL and IB Spanish ab initio SL, as well as General Spanish courses. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of adolescent development, cooperative learning strategies, visible thinking routines, and inquiry-based instruction. The teacher should be skilled in planning and implementing differentiation across a range of student abilities and comfortable using standards-referenced assessment practices.

Beyond academics, the teacher will integrate social-emotional learning and positive behavior supports, to cultivate a classroom environment that promotes belonging and respect for diverse perspectives. The teacher will also use the curriculum mapping tool Atlas Rubicon to plan and deliver lessons that align with school expectations and support learning experiences that meet the needs of every student while advancing the RIS vision for academic excellence and personal growth. Familiarity with Universal Design for Learning is preferred but not required.

RIS is committed to child safeguarding and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment by proactively upholding our code of conduct.
