British International School, Phuket is seeking an exceptional educational leader to become our next Head of School and lead the school into its next chapter.
The Head of School will provide strategic, academic and educational leadership, working closely with the CEO and Board of Directors. The successful candidate will lead an experienced Senior Leadership Team and have responsibility for the quality of teaching and learning, student outcomes, staff development, safeguarding, wellbeing and the overall educational experience.
The role also includes significant strategic and operational responsibilities, including:
School strategy, improvement and academic excellence
Teaching, learning and curriculum
Staffing, recruitment and professional development
Student enrolment, admissions and marketing
Boarding
Safeguarding, wellbeing and student welfare
Budget planning and resource management
School performance and KPI achievement
Business development and events
Accreditation and compliance
Parent, community and stakeholder relations
Board reporting and governance
We are seeking a leader who combines educational excellence with strategic and operational awareness and who understands that the success of an international school depends upon its students, staff and wider community.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Proven executive leadership experience, ideally as a Head, Principal or equivalent senior leader in a high-performing international, British or boarding school.
Strong expertise in teaching, learning, curriculum and student achievement.
Experience of leading sustainable school improvement and managing complex educational systems.
Experience of financial planning, quality assurance, accreditation and safeguarding.
An empowering and collaborative leadership style that builds trust and develops teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong cultural intelligence and an understanding of working within an international community and Thai context.
A commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and international-mindedness.
The vision, presence and credibility to lead the school through its next stage of development.
Experience of British/international curricula, boarding, IB, IGCSE and/or BTEC would be advantageous.

Qualifications
A recognised teaching qualification and relevant undergraduate degree are required, together with a Master’s degree in education, leadership or a related field.
An executive leadership qualification such as NPQH or equivalent is strongly preferred. Additional qualifications in school leadership, curriculum design, educational management or safeguarding would be advantageous.
