Experience and qualifications
● Appropriate degree, with UK PGCE, or other teaching qualification giving QTS
● Experience in managing football coaching programmes across multiple age groups and ability levels
● Strong football technical knowledge across performance and recreational pathways
● Proven leadership and management skills in a sports academy or similar environment
● Ability to plan and deliver high-quality training sessions and competitions
● Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
● Excellent organisational, administrative, and communication skills
● Commitment to child protection, safeguarding, and promoting the welfare of young people
● Coaching qualifications (national governing body or international equivalent, minimum Level 2 or higher preferred)
● Experience in budget management and resource planning
● Experience coaching in a school, academy, or professional football environment
● Ability to mentor and support the professional development of other coaches
● Experience managing national or international-level athletes/programmes
● Profound knowledge of football techniques, strategies, and rules
● Flexibility to work during varying schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
● A high level of professionalism and consideration of the well-being of children
● Respect for all members of a school community, irrespective of position, gender, age and ethnic background
● Previous experience working with students for whom English is not a first language
● A positive and solution-focused attitude to working
● Acceptable police checks (or equivalent) from the country of origin and from all countries in which you have worked
● Appropriate references from your current and previous employer, corroborated by personal phone calls made to each referee
