Raffles American School Bangkok is seeking a dedicated and experienced Middle School Science Teacher to teach Grades 5–6 Science, aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) The U.S. framework for science education. The role also includes running one homeroom advisory class each Friday and supporting the pastoral development of students.
Working Hour: 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM (19 hours per week, including Homeroom Advisory)

Reports to: Middle School Principal / Department: Academic Middle & High School G5-12 (Specialists)

Start Date: January 2026 e: Full-time

Location: Raffles American School Bangkok

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and assess engaging, inquiry-based science lessons for Grades 5–6.
• Use established departmental materials and planning resources.
• Collaborate closely with the Science Department to enhance curriculum and instruction.
• Run a weekly Friday advisory session and provide ongoing pastoral care.
• Maintain accurate grading, feedback, and communication with students and families.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Science major preferred).
• Teaching qualification such as QTS, PGCE, or State Teaching License preferred.
• Experience teaching middle school science (Grades 5–8).
• Strong understanding of hands-on, inquiry-based learning and student-centered pedagogy.
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.

Schedule

This is a fulltime position (19 hours per week), inclusive of advisory responsibilities.

Growth Opportunity

For the right candidate, there is potential to transition to a High School Biology teaching role in a subsequent academic year.

The position starts at 60,000 - 80,000 THB/Month for a full-time Science Teacher. There is no additional housing stipend. Overseas candidates will be reimbursed for their flight to Thailand and provided round-trip airfare to their home country at the end of each two-year contract. Visa and work permit expenses will be reimbursed by RAS. Medical, accident, disability, and life insurance are also provided.
