Regent’s International School, Bangkok

Regent’s International School, Bangkok is one of Thailand’s leading British international schools, serving a diverse and vibrant international community. Accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS), and a proud member of FOBISIA and the Round Square network, Regent’s is recognised for its academic excellence, values-led culture and global outlook.

Founded in the 1990s by renowned educator Dr Virachai Techavijit, Regent’s blends strong Thai and British heritage with a forward-thinking, international mindset. The school currently educates around 830 students and benefits from excellent, purpose-built facilities in Bangkok.

Our students follow an adapted British curriculum, completing International GCSEs before progressing to the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).

In August 2025, Regent’s entered a strategic partnership with Nord Anglia Education (NAE), a global family of premium international schools. This partnership strengthens our commitment to world-class learning and creates exceptional professional growth opportunities for our staff.

Join Regent’s International School Bangkok for your GAP Year as a Boarding Assistant

This GAP Year placement offers a unique opportunity to live and work in a thriving international boarding community. As a Boarding Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the wellbeing, routines, and day‑to‑day life of our boarders. In addition, you will contribute to language development across the primary school, supporting English learners and helping introduce basic Spanish to younger students.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated young adult considering a career in education, childcare, or youth development — or simply seeking a meaningful and rewarding year abroad.

About the role

As a boarding assistant at Regent's you will:

  • Support the smooth running of daily routines, including wake‑up, mealtimes, study hours, and bedtime.
  • Build positive, supportive relationships with students from a wide range of countries and cultural backgrounds.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, caring environment where students feel at home.
  • Assist with weekend activities, trips, and events that contribute to a vibrant boarding experience.
  • Work closely with boarding staff, offering practical help, supervision, and pastoral support.
  • Support students developing English proficiency through small‑group and in‑class assistance.
  • Help students build confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in English.
  • Collaborate with teachers to ensure students can access the curriculum and make strong progress.

About you

We are looking for someone who will thrive in a diverse, energetic international school community. The successful candidate will have:

  • A genuine enthusiasm for supporting young people and contributing positively to their boarding experience.
  • An interest in language development and helping children gain confidence in English (and basic Spanish).
  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a school, camp, or youth setting.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a warm, approachable manner.
  • Flexibility, patience, and initiative — essential qualities in both boarding and classroom settings.
  • A willingness to get involved in the wider life of the school, from activities to house events.
  • A sense of adventure and openness to living in a new country and culture.

Please note that, due to visa restrictions, you must be a school leaver and be 18 or 19 years old on 1st August 2026.

Why Join Regent’s?

At Regent’s, we believe people thrive when they feel valued, supported and inspired.

As part of Nord Anglia Education, you will benefit from:

  • Accommodation in our boarding campus

  • Full board during term time

  • Training and development of skills

  • A monthly allowance to support your time in Bangkok

  • Medical insurance
