Full-time English Instructor
Are you interested in making a difference in the lives of English learners? Duke Language School is seeking a passionate full-time English instructor and admin to deliver high-quality, engaging lessons tailored to diverse adult learners. Instructors will also contribute to course development by creating and testing communicative student activities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Native English speaker (from the UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, or South Africa)
- Bachelor's degree (relevant degrees preferred)
- Recognized certificate in EFL (CELTA or TESOL preferred)
- At least one year of teaching experience preferred
- Working with diverse populations of adult students
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Be available for daytime working hours: Monday-Friday from 8:30am to 5:30pm (one hour lunch break)
- Instruct a diverse group of adult learners, ranging from Beginner (A1) to Advanced (C1) levels
- Build and maintain positive relationships with students and staff
- Evaluate new students and assign them to the correct CEFR level
- Develop in-house teaching materials, including engaging activities for students
- Assist our marketing team with educational social media content, including videos
- Be available as a substitute when part-time teachers are not able to teach
- Interest in hosting social activities for students outside of class hours (paid)
- Attend meetings and training sessions periodically
- Work as part of a team, helping with any special projects (as needed)
