Highgate International School Thailand opened to a founding community of Pre-Prep and Junior School students in August 2026. It will open a Senior School in August 2027, initially welcoming students into Year 7, Year 8 and Year 9.

The Founding Senior Teacher of Mathematics will help to establish Mathematics as a defining academic strength of the Senior School. They will develop secure knowledge alongside mathematical fluency, reasoning, problem-solving, proof and precise communication within the minds of a carefully selected population of highly capable students.
Plan, implement and review an ambitious and engaging Mathematics curriculum for a cohort of capable, multilingual students founded upon Key Stage 3 objectives drawn from the English National Curriculum
Develop mathematical fluency through carefully sequenced knowledge, practice and application
Build confident reasoning, problem-solving and proof, supported by precise mathematical communication
Create a culture in which students think deeply, persevere with challenging problems and experience the satisfaction of mastering difficult ideas
Encourage students to explain, justify and refine their mathematical thinking through purposeful discussion and questioning
Establish clear progression both into and through Key Stage 3, and towards IGCSE and A Level Mathematics
Use formative and summative assessment to support progress and inform teaching
Foster curiosity, rigour, engagement, enthusiasm, community and kindness among the student population
Work in accordance with school policy and in the wider interests of the school
Contribute enthusiastically and collaboratively to the development and wider operation of the school

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
The Founding Senior Teacher of Mathematics will:
Hold a relevant degree and be a fully qualified secondary teacher with QTS
Have a minimum of three years' successful post-qualification teaching experience
Have a secure working knowledge of the English National Curriculum and appropriate secondary assessment pathways
Be able to demonstrate a strong track record for the teaching of Mathematics at Key Stage 3 and 4 - Key Stage 5 experience would be seen as an advantage
Have experience of securing strong outcomes for populations of multilingual students
