Our Foundation Stage teachers play a vital role in shaping the earliest experiences of our youngest learners. They create joyful, nurturing and stimulating environments where children feel safe, valued and confident to explore, discover and take risks in their learning. Through purposeful play, inquiry and rich interactions, they foster curiosity, independence, communication and a lifelong love of learning. Teaching is guided by the Primary Framework for Teaching and Learning and underpinned by our Safe – Curious – Kind ethos.
At Bangkok Patana, Foundation Stage teachers are reflective practitioners who combine a deep understanding of child development with high-quality Early Years practice. They plan and deliver a rich, balanced curriculum aligned with the EYFS framework, drawing on direct teaching, focused group learning and responsive ‘planning in the moment’ to ensure every child is known, supported and appropriately challenged. They establish warm, secure relationships, create calm and inclusive learning environments, and develop a strong understanding of each child as a learner.
Teachers work collaboratively with colleagues, specialists and families to foster a strong sense of belonging and ensure a smooth transition into the next stage of learning. They contribute positively to the wider life of the school, engage actively in professional learning, and consistently model the values and behaviours that define a Patana educator. They demonstrate respect for Thai culture as our host context and for the diverse backgrounds of our international community, helping every child and family feel welcomed, connected and able to thrive.
