We are growing rapidly and now seek an EYFS Specialist who can also serve as a Teacher Trainer and Curriculum Developer to elevate our programme to the next level.
Position: EYFS Specialist – Play-Based Learning, Teacher Trainer & Curriculum Developer
A leadership-influencing role for someone passionate about Early Years education, skilled in coaching teachers, and experienced in designing innovative EYFS curricula.
Key Responsibilities
A. Teaching & Learning
Plan and deliver high-quality EYFS lessons using play-based, child-led approaches.
Design stimulating indoor/outdoor environments that promote exploration and independence.
Lead Wonder Play stations, sensory exploration, role-play, storytelling, and project-based learning.
Integrate early literacy (Monster Phonics), numeracy (White Rose Maths), and hands-on learning.
Conduct observations and assessments aligned with EYFS ELGs.
B. Teacher Training & PD
Coach and mentor EYFS teachers and assistants to strengthen play-based pedagogy.
Lead workshops on classroom environment setup, continuous provision, behaviour management, phonics, maths, and assessment.
Conduct demonstration lessons and co-teaching sessions.
Support the implementation of Walkthrus and lesson study.
C. Curriculum Development
Co-develop and refine BYIS’s EYFS curriculum, progression maps, and weekly plans.
Create play-based station guides, project themes, and environment standards.
Support the design of SparkBrain Box take-home kits.
Strengthen assessment tools and reporting systems.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood or Education.
3+ years of EYFS or play-based international school experience.
Strong expertise in the UK EYFS Framework and ELGs.
Proven experience mentoring or training teachers.
Preferred:
Experience with Monster Phonics & White Rose Maths.
Curriculum design or academic leadership experience.
Strengths in creative arts, environmental design, or Reggio-inspired practice.
