About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic ESL Teacher to join our dynamic teaching team. The successful candidate will teach English as a Second Language to secondary-level students (Grades 7–11), delivering engaging lessons aligned with the U.S. curriculum. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging ESL lessons that develop students’ reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills, aligned with the U.S. curriculum.
- Foster English language proficiency through differentiated instruction and a variety of teaching strategies tailored to diverse learners.
- Design and implement a master plan to advance students’ CEFR levels at each grade level, ensuring structured progression and measurable outcomes.
- Develop and design specialized courses and materials for standardized English exams, including IELTS and SAT, to prepare students for academic success.
- Promote critical thinking, creativity, and effective communication in English.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support language development and academic success.
- Integrate project-based and real-world learning experiences to make language learning meaningful and practical.
- Support students in developing skills for standardized tests and advanced English coursework.
- Collaborate with colleagues to align instructional strategies, share best practices, and contribute to curriculum development.
- Mentor and support fellow English teachers, with the potential to take on a leading or management role within the English department.
- Encourage student participation in English-related extracurricular activities, such as debating, writing competitions, or language clubs.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in English, TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Education, or a related field.
- Teaching certification in ESL, TESOL, or equivalent is preferred.
- Teaching license from Kurusapa (temporary or permanent) preferred.
- Native English speaker
- Minimum of 3–4 years of teaching experience at the secondary school level.
- Proven ability to design and implement curriculum, lesson plans, and assessments that develop students’ language proficiency.
- Experience in guiding students through CEFR progression and designing programs to advance their levels.
- Experience in preparing students for standardized English exams, such as IELTS, SAT, or similar.
- Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative learning environment.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor colleagues and take on leadership or management responsibilities within the English department.
- Familiarity with educational technology and digital tools for teaching and assessment.
