RIS seeks an enthusiastic, dynamic, and engaging elementary school music teacher who will lead, inspire, and promote student learning. The applicant should be knowledgeable about elementary school student development, subject-area content, and best practices with an inquiry-based approach, differentiation, and assessing student learning. Additionally, the applicant should have experience with collaborative curriculum designs and be well-versed in unit development using backward planning. The applicant will collaborate with department team members, school leaders, and the curriculum coordinator to ensure that instruction meets the needs of each student.

• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other stakeholders
• Ability to differentiate instruction for all learners
• Willingness to be an active participant in our collaborative processes
• Proven ability to develop and deliver successful music education programs
• Participation in current and relevant professional development in teaching and learning
• Experience in using technology tools in teaching music
• Knowledgeable of Google Suite
• Experience using standards-based assessment, grading, and reporting
• Willingness to work in a multicultural environment
• Experience coordinating division concerts and special events

Q u a l i f i c a t i o n s   &  r e q u i r e m e n t s

• Current elementary school teaching license or certification in music education
• Master’s degree in a related field preferred
• Minimum of two years of experience teaching music in an accredited elementary school
• Demonstrated experience directing concerts at the school or community level
