Job Overview

In this role, you will provide targeted support to students with developing English proficiency, ensuring access to the Cambridge and English National Curriculum, and working collaboratively with teachers to deliver inclusive and effective learning experiences..

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide in-class (push-in) and small group (pull-out) ELL support in Key Stage 2

  • Support students’ English language development across core subjects

  • Collaborate with class teachers to plan and deliver differentiated learning

  • Prepare and adapt learning materials, including pre-teaching vocabulary and content

  • Monitor student progress and contribute to assessment and reporting

  • Deliver after-school ELL support sessions

  • Support students transitioning into mainstream classroom learning

  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and values-driven learning environment

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Linguistics, or a related field

  • Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE with QTS or equivalent)

  • At least 2 years of teaching experience in Primary (Key Stage 2 preferred)

  • Experience supporting English Language Learners (ELL/EAL/ESL)

  • Strong understanding of language acquisition and differentiation strategies

  • Native English speaker or excellent English proficiency both spoken and written

  • Commitment to Values-based Education (VbE) and Enquiry-based Learning (EBL)
