Job Description:
Hummingbird International Kindergarten is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Kindergarten Co-Teacher to join our Early Years team. The successful candidate will support the class teacher in delivering a nurturing, play-based learning environment aligned with the EYFS Curriculum and Positive Discipline approach.
Support the lead teacher in planning and implementing daily learning activities based on the EYFS framework.
Assist in creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment for young learners.
Provide warm and responsive care to children aged 2–5 years, supporting their emotional and social development.
Help manage classroom routines such as arrival, snack time, toileting, transitions, and outdoor play.
Encourage children’s independence, curiosity, and engagement through play-based learning.
Support children with early communication, language development, and foundational skills.
Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to ensure consistency in learning and behaviour guidance.
Apply Positive Discipline strategies to promote respectful and kind behaviour.
Observe children’s progress and contribute to assessments, learning journals, and documentation.
Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers when required.
Maintain a clean, organised, and child-friendly classroom environment.
Uphold safeguarding, health, and safety policies at all times.
Minimum 4 years of experience working in an Early Years or Pre-Nursery setting.
Understanding of the early childhood development.
Passion for working with young children in a nurturing and supportive way.
Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to support children’s learning through play and exploration.
Relevant qualifications in Early Childhood Education (preferred).
