Dulwich College Bangkok combines a rich heritage of British international education with Thai values and culture. Opened in August 2026, the College currently serves students from Nursery to Year 7 and will grow towards 1,800 students with the opening of the Senior School in 2029. Strategic Leadership & School Improvement
Translate College vision into actionable operational plans with the Head of Primary.
Evaluate school structures and operational policies to meet strategic targets.
Lead self-evaluation, draft the Primary Development Plan, and report on impact.
Synthesize data and outcomes to identify strengths, mitigate risks, and guide strategy.
Drive key Primary initiatives, measuring and reporting on long-term impact.
Foster a collaborative culture of high standards and mutual accountability.
Deputise for the Head of Primary with sound judgment and decisive leadership.
Partner with cross-College leaders for vertical coherence across academic phases.
Teaching, Learning & Curriculum
Model pedagogical excellence through teaching; champion student-centered learning.
Ensure curricular progression across Key Stages (notably Rec–Y1, Y2–Y3, and Y6–Y7).
Oversee assessment and reporting systems for data accuracy and benchmarking.
Lead monitoring cycles (learning walks, book scrutinies, data reviews) with the Head.
Policy & Strategic Direction
Contribute to the College Improvement Plan aligned with EiM network priorities.
Review policies regularly against educational research and network standards.
Student Wellbeing, Behavior & Inclusion
Maintain a safe, inclusive culture where every student is known and supported.
Align pastoral, safeguarding, and support teams for targeted interventions.
Champion provision for ALN, EAL, and varied attainment profiles.
Oversee behavior frameworks using restorative practice and consistent standards.
Promote student agency and leadership across the Primary school.
Operational Leadership & Staff Development
Target professional development needs to continuously elevate teaching standards.
Help design the Primary timetable to optimize learning time and student wellbeing.
Manage daily operations: duty rotas, staff cover, excursions, and House events.
Handle operational challenges, incidents, and welfare matters decisively.
Coordinate with Operations, Facilities, IT, and Marketing on budgets and resources.
Community, Admissions & Partnerships
Build proactive parent partnerships, handling complex matters with diplomacy.
Represent the school at parent forums, open days, and EiM/Dulwich network events.
Lead academic admissions assessments and welcome incoming families.
Support school life through ECAs, competitions, and Worldwise events.
Professional Conduct & Governance
Exemplify the highest standards of professional ethics and safeguarding.
Comply with College policies, Thai regulations, and international standards.
Undertake executive duties as assigned by Primary or College leadership.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
A recognised UK teaching qualification, such as a PGCE, BEd with QTS status or an internationally recognised equivalent.
A relevant bachelor’s degree.
Substantial and successful teaching experience within the Primary age range.
Proven experience in a school leadership role, such as Deputy Head, Assistant Head, Phase Leader, Year Leader or Subject Leader for a minimum of 3 years.
Evidence of successfully improving teaching and learning, curriculum provision and student outcomes.
Strong knowledge of UK Primary curriculum, assessment, safeguarding, inclusion and student wellbeing.
Experience in leading; curriculum initiatives and change, instructional and facilitative coaching and developing Teachers, Teaching Assistants or other members of staff through structured well planned and relevant professional development opportunities and growth leadership cycles.
Experience in appraisal, performance management or professional development processes with evidence of the impact that this has had on quality of teacher growth and student learning.
Excellent written and spoken English, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge and experience as an Instructional and facilitative coach.
High level of emotional intelligence.
Expertise to secure students’ self-esteem and enable students to become resilient learners.
A clear focus on learning.
A record of highly effective classroom practice.
Knowledge of strategies to raise standards for all groups of learners and to secure high levels of student achievement.
Organisational and administrative skills, and experience of efficient resource management.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
A relevant postgraduate or leadership qualification, such as a master’s degree, NPQSL, NPQH or equivalent.
Previous experience as a Deputy Head or Assistant Head of Primary.
Experience working in a British international school or a culturally diverse school community.
Experience in school improvement planning, inspection or accreditation processes., particularly CIS.
Experience of Leading Professional Development.
Experience of leading Safeguarding and Child Protection.
Experience managing Teaching Assistants, specialist teachers, subject leaders or multidisciplinary teams.
Cultural awareness of living and working in Thailand and SE Asia.
