Specific Responsibilities - Thai Guidance Teacher:
- provide individual counselling sessions with secondary school students to assess their academic strengths, interests, and career goals;
- offer personal support to address social, emotional, and behavioural concerns and help students navigate the challenges of adolescence;
- assist students in researching and selecting suitable international universities and programs based on their aspirations and academic profiles;
- offer guidance on standardised testing, application deadlines, and admission requirements;
- aid in writing compelling personal statements, resumes, and recommendation letters, as well as student portfolios;
- facilitate the University application process, helping students complete applications, submit required documents, and meet deadlines;
- organise mock interviews and preparation sessions to equip students for university interviews and assessment tests;
- conduct career assessments and provide information about potential career paths, helping students make informed decisions about their future;
- assist students in exploring work experience and volunteer opportunities to build their resumes and gain practical experience;
- organise workshops and seminars on University admissions, career planning, and study abroad opportunities for students and parents;
- stay up-to-date with current trends in higher education and share this information with students and colleagues;
- establish and maintain strong relationships with University admissions officers, allowing for open lines of communication and potential scholarship opportunities for        students;
- collaborate with teachers, school administration, and parents to provide comprehensive support to students.
- organise work experience programme in collaboration with the Year 12 leader.
- meeting regularly with parents to discuss career planning and guidance.

Specific Responsibilities - Classroom Teacher

Teaching and Class Management

- establish and maintain a safe environment and purposeful working atmosphere which supports learning and in which pupils feel secure and confident;
- set high expectations for pupils’ behaviour, establishing and maintaining a good standard of discipline through well-focused teaching and positive and productive              relationships;
provide clear structures for lessons maintaining pace, motivation, and challengeuse a variety of teaching methods to:
(i) develop pupils’ thinking through the implementation of the Thinking School Programme;
(ii) structure information well, including outlining learning intentions and summarising key points as the lesson progresses;
(iii) instruct, demonstrate, and give accurate, well-paced explanations using appropriate vocabulary;
(iv) use effective questioning, listen carefully to pupils, and give attention to errors and misconceptions.
select appropriate learning resources and develop study skills through the use of the library, ICT, and other resources;
ensure pupils acquire and consolidate knowledge, skills, and understanding appropriate to the subjects taught;
critically evaluate teaching to improve effectiveness;
promote the general progress and well-being of all students in the school.


Planning
- identify clear teaching and learning objectives and specify how these will be taught and assessed;
- set tasks which challenge pupils and ensure a high level of interest;
- set appropriate and demanding expectations for pupils’ learning, motivation, and presentation of work;
- identify and differentiate for the needs of individuals and groups within the class, taking note of Individual Education Action Plans;
- plan opportunities to contribute to pupils’ thinking, numeracy, literacy, and pastoral care.


Other professional requirements:
- operate at all times within the stated policies and practices of the school;
- establish effective working relationships and set a good example through presentation and personal and professional conduct;
- endeavour to allow every student to reach their potential and meet high expectations;
- contribute to the life of the school through effective participation in meetings and extra-curricular activities;
- participate in the arrangements made for Performance Management in the school; take responsibility for professional development in relation to school policies and          practices; ensuring that all targets set at appraisal and action plans prepared are implemented
- communicate and cooperate with parents;
- participating in administrative and organisational tasks related to such duties as described;
- carry out other duties as reasonably required by the Headteacher.
