Primary Spanish Teacher (Starting Academic Year 25/26)

Bangkok Patana School seeks an inspirational and dedicated Primary Spanish Teacher to join our dynamic Modern Languages team, comprising Spanish, French, and Mandarin teachers. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering a love for language learning, guiding students on their journey to becoming confident Spanish speakers, and contributing to an inclusive, vibrant learning environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to inspire young learners to explore the Spanish language and culture, building confidence and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
● Develop and deliver engaging Spanish lessons that inspire curiosity, language acquisition, and intercultural understanding.
● Create a nurturing classroom atmosphere where every student feels confident expressing themselves in Spanish, regardless of their starting point.
● Guide students in developing their Spanish language skills, encouraging personal expression and experimentation with vocabulary and grammar.
● Organise competitions, cultural events, and language showcases, providing students with opportunities to celebrate their learning and share their achievements.
● Promote an inclusive approach to language learning, ensuring all students feel seen, valued, and supported in their progress.
● Contribute to the school’s culture of learning, well-being, and global citizenship, while promoting a respectful and caring environment.
● Engage fully with the life of the school, including participating in extra-curricular activities and school-wide initiatives.
Note: This role also may require the successful candidate to support and cover in mainstream classrooms for (up to) 6 periods a week, due to a reduced Spanish teaching timetable.

Qualifications and Experience:
● A relevant teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent).
● An undergraduate degree in Spanish or Modern Languages (or similar).
● Significant experience in teaching Spanish in Primary settings, ideally within an international school context.
● Experience working in a large, multi-form entry school.
● Strong communication and organisational skills.
● A commitment to the well-being and safeguarding of students.
