Teaching and Learning Responsibilities
Plan and prepare well-structured, clearly presented lessons appropriate to the abilities of all students and the syllabus being taught
Make sure that the classroom is a stimulating environment that facilitates learning
Generate enthusiasm for the subject being taught and inspire all students to work to their potential
Liaise with the Head of Department and Academic Support where a student may have special educational needs and with counseling center (ID lab) if a student is experiencing pastoral difficulties
Promote high standards of behavior by encouraging a positive, proactive approach to study and build productive relationships with students
Set homework according to policy and pertinent to the student’s ability and wider workload
Promote high standards of organization
Be punctual to lessons
Promote high standards in the use of English as the common language and help develop English for Academic Progress
Provide high-quality, accurate, constructive and targeted information to parents at Parents' Evenings, in subject reports, incidental meetings and communications
Assess, record and monitor the progress of all students according to academic department guidelines in order to provide accurate information to parents in a variety of forms, as and when necessary
Maintain materials and resources as needed
Responsibilities to the Department and School

Participate positively in departmental meetings, follow policies and generally contributing to the effective and efficient running of the department
Promote professional dialogue, share ideas about teaching and learning and support other teachers in developing good practice and new approaches and initiatives

Be involved in new responsibilities within the department as part of an ongoing process of professional development
Keep up to date with developments in the subject, and in education generally
Other Responsibilities
Undertake other reasonable duties as requested by the Head of Department, or members of the Senior Leadership Team and any duties that the Head of department and Academic Support deems necessary for the effective operation of the school
Qualifications:
Appropriate degree, QTS or other teaching qualification
Teaching experience
Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child
A high level of professionalism and consideration of the well-being of children
Recent and consistent involvement in extracurricular activities
Respect for all members of a school community, irrespective of position, gender, age and ethnic background
Previous experience working with students for whom English is not their first language
A positive and solution-focused attitude to working life
A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police check (for applicants who have never worked in UK) and no question regarding suitability to work with children
Desirable requirements:
Knowledge of Math
Math teachers must be able to present mathematical ideas and problem-solving techniques clearly. Deep understanding of mathematical concepts, including algebra, geometry, calculus, and statistics. Math often involves complex ideas that some students will struggle to understand, which makes it all the more important that a math teacher be able to break those complex ideas down and explain them in a way that students can grasp. In addition to communicating with students
Math teachers also need to converse with other teachers, school staff and administrators, and parents or guardians.
Math teachers must use classroom time effectively to ensure they cover all the material over the school year. They also need to be able to balance their workload and outside responsibilities.
Teachers need to create lesson plans, activities, and assessments for students, and grade homework, tests, and other assignments. It can be a challenge to do it all, making time management skills essential.
Teachers must be familiar with the technology necessary to provide effective instruction and accommodate students with special learning needs. They also use technology to keep track of coursework and grades and to communicate with students and parents or guardians.
Patience and understanding are crucial math teacher skills. Students come to the classroom with various challenges in their lives. It is necessary to meet students where they are and be understanding about the issues that they may be struggling with that impact their ability to learn.
Knowledge of Science
Knowledge of life, physical, including biology, chemistry, physics, and earth science. In-depth knowledge of scientific concepts and principles in various fields.
Ability to design and implement lesson plans
Ability to explain scientific concepts
Proficiency in conducting experiments and guiding students in laboratory settings.
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to motivate students
Good organizational and problem-solving skills

practical electronics (circuit design/simulation/prototyping/assembly)
design software (TinkerCAD/OpenSCAD /Shapr3D/Fusion 360)
3D printing (best practices/slicing/trouble-shooting)
materials fabrication (plastics/wood/metal/ceramics/textiles)
a first degree in a science, technology or design related field
a recognised teaching qualification
temporary license from TCT
enhanced ICT competency
native English speaker
excellent problem solving skills
familiarity with laboratory/workshop safety best practices
willingness to invest extra time outside of lessons to help with student projects
