At Satit Prasarnmit International Programme, we are committed to providing students with opportunities to explore and excel in Modern Foreign Languages. In alignment with the Cambridge International Education guidelines, we encourage students to experience more than one additional language alongside their primary studies.
Korean has been an integral part of our curriculum, allowing students in Key Stage 3 to develop an understanding and appreciation of this rich and fascinating language. By Key Stage 4, our students are equipped with the knowledge and skills to achieve a minimum of TOPIK level 2 certification, ensuring a strong foundation in Japanese language proficiency.
Responsibilities:
Planning and delivering engaging, challenging, and inclusive Korean lessons that cater to students from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 4.
Developing schemes of work and lesson plans aligned with the British Curriculum and Cambridge International Education guidelines.
Assessing students' progress and providing regular feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.
Creating a positive learning environment that supports students' social, emotional, and academic growth.
Supporting students in achieving their TOPIK goals, including providing targeted preparation for the level 2 exam and beyond.
Organising and leading extracurricular activities and events that celebrate Korean culture, such as Korean Language Week or cultural workshops.
Collaborating with colleagues to promote the Modern Foreign Languages program and contribute to the wider school community.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Korean, Education, or a related field.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Native or near-native proficiency in Japanese, with a strong understanding of its linguistic and cultural aspects.
Experience teaching Japanese in a British Curriculum school or a similar educational setting.
Strong knowledge of Cambridge International Education guidelines for Modern Foreign Languages.
Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and learning styles.
Experience working with EAL learners is an advantage.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
