We require an innovative IT with Robotics and Coding teacher for Key Stage 3 (Year 7-9), and we need them to possess a variety of skills and qualities that enable them to effectively engage and inspire their students. First and foremost, they should have a deep understanding of the subject matter and be able to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and engaging way.
They should also be creative and innovative in their teaching approach, constantly exploring new teaching methods and tools to make the subject matter more relevant and interesting to our adaptive students. This may involve incorporating and researching new technologies, developing new lesson plans, or finding new ways to make the subject matter more accessible to students with different learning styles.
As an IT with Robotics and Coding teacher, you should have strong communication skills that enable you to explain technical concepts in a clear and concise way. You should also be able to adapt your teaching style to meet the needs of different students and effectively communicate with parents and colleagues.
Problem-solving skills are essential for an innovative IT with Robotics and Coding candidates. You should be able to help your students develop their problem-solving skills and encourage them to approach challenges in a creative and innovative way.
Flexibility and adaptability are important qualities for an IT with Robotics and Coding candidate. The field is constantly evolving, and you should be able to adapt your curriculum and teaching methods to reflect changes in the field.
Passion for technology is also key. You should be enthusiastic about technology and the role it plays in our lives, staying up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in the field and sharing this knowledge with your students.
Finally, you should be committed to continuous learning and professional development. This may involve attending conferences or workshops, participating in online courses, or collaborating with other teachers and professionals in the field to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in IT with Robotics and Coding.
Responsibilities:
Be able to teach IT with Robotics and Coding to students in KS3.
Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality lessons that engage and challenge students
Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support
Create and maintain a positive learning environment that promotes active student participation
Use a range of teaching and learning strategies to meet the needs of individual students
Participate in the development of Robotics and Coding program
Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities, school events and parent engagement
Requirements:
A degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field
Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification preferred
Experience teaching IT with Robotics and Coding in a British curriculum school
Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Scratch and Java
Experience working with robotics and coding equipment such as Lego Mindstorms, Raspberry Pi and Arduino
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience of working with EAL learners is an advantage
A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with the latest developments in IT with Robotics and Coding
